The Biology Club will host a couple awards for its members through the Theta Lambda Chapter for Tri Beta Biological National Honors Society. Awards are granted every spring semester.

Biology Club Only Awards

Academic Achievement Award

The Academic Achievement Award is granted to the Biology Club member with the highest GPA. Members will submit their GPA's to the Historian for determination.

Key Award

The Key Award is granted to the Biology Club member who has outstanding achievement in the classroom, is an active participant in the Biology Department and has strong relationships with peers and faculty. Students must have the following criteria; have a cumulative and major GPA above 3.0 and be a sophomore or greater. Research experience is not required but recommended. The recipient of the award will be granted by faculty and will be given free full membership to Tri Beta, sponsored by the Biology Club.

Tri Beta and Biology Club Awards

Red Acorn Award

The Red Acorn Award will be presented to the Tri Beta or Biology Club member who dedicates the most time to philanthropy and community service events hosted by Biology Club. The winner will be selected by the secretary (executive board excluded).

Knight's Helmet Award

The Knight's Helmet Award is for the member with the most outstanding research. Research will be evaluated by research design, creativity and technique. 

 

Skull Award

The Skull Award is given to the member the faculty sees is most deserving. Candidates will be chosen based off how active they are within the department, how attentive they are in the class room, relationships with peers and faculty as well as work ethic. 

 

Golden Sash Award

The Golden Sash Award is presented to the senior member who actively sought to spread biological knowledge to the academic and public community. 

 

Serpent Award

The Serpent Award is granted to the Tri Beta or Biology Club member with the highest cumulative GPA to date. 

 

Golden Eagle Award

The Golden Eagle Award is presented to the most active member. (Executive Board excluded)

The Biology Club involves a group of people who love to talk about Biology and would like to become more involved with their field of study as well as participate in fun events and community service projects.
